Buna cevap olarak, 46 eyaletten 800’den fazla yer bilimci ve enerji uzmanı açık bir mektup yazarak küresel ısınmanın engellenmesi adına atması gereken çok önemli 6 adımı sıraladılar.

Küresel ısınma Amerika’nın ekonomisini, ulusal güvenliğini, halk sağlığı ve korunmasını tehdit etmektedir. Düşük gelirli ve azınlık durumda olan bazı toplumlar bu olumsuz durumum etkilerini tecrübe etmektelerdir.
İnsanlık tarihinin bu kritik döneminde, sorunu çözmeye yönelik güçlü adımlar atılması için, diğer ülkeler Amerika’yı lider olarak görmektelerdir.
